If you have suffered from a hand or finger injury, you might want to consider using the CanDo® Digi-Flex® with your hand therapist. In our previous blog, we mentioned some of our favorite exercises you can do with a Digi-Flex® hand exerciser. With these exercises in mind, now it is time to find the right Digi-Flex® exerciser for you.
CanDo® Digi-Flex®
The CanDo® Digi-Flex® is a small, handheld device designed to effectively strengthen your fingers and hand. The device is used to develop isolated finger strength, flexibility and coordination as it builds hand and forearm strength. You can use each button independently to exercise fingers or compress the entire unit for complete hand and forearm strengthening. The Digi-Flex® comes in 5 different color-coded grip strengths with each color representing a different amount of resistance.
CanDo® Digi-Flex Multi®
The CanDo® Digi-Flex Multi® is a truly versatile exerciser that has interchangeable finger buttons for a more customized experience. Like the standard CanDo® Digi-Flex®, you can use each button independently to exercise fingers or compress the entire unit for complete hand and forearm strengthening. The difference is that with the Digi-Flex Multi® you can modify the resistance for each finger. By switching out the resistance finger buttons, each finger can be set to a different resistance level. This allows for a more unique experience that caters to individual finger strengthening.
CanDo® Digi-Flex LITE®
The CanDo® Digi-Flex LITE® is very similar to the standard CanDo® Digi-Flex®. The key difference being the material it is made from and the fact that you can lock individual buttons. Each button has a single spring that is covered by a plastic sheath compared to the metal material found on the CanDo® Digi-Flex®. Each finger button can also individually lock. This allows users to only use the buttons they need and enables individual finger strengthening.
CanDo® Digi-Flex Thumb®
The CanDo® Digi-Flex Thumb® is like the CanDo® Digi-Flex LITE® but with an added thumb attachment. It is made with a plastic sheath material and features individual finger locks. The thumb attachment is an added feature that makes it different from the rest of the Digi-Flex® product line. The adjustable thumb button can attach in 3 positions and rotates. This design allows for both left and right thumb usage. Just like the rest of the Digi-Flex®, the thumb button can be pressed down to exercise muscles in the thumb.
No matter what kind of hand, finger or thumb injury you have, there is a Digi-Flex® for you. If you feel the Digi-Flex® is right for you, please consult with your hand therapist.
