Have you ever been referred to a Physical Therapist? Physical Therapists (PTs) are a crucial part of rehabilitation and recovery. After a thorough evaluation, a PT will put together a plan of care to help patients rehabilitate and manage their pain. By following this plan of care patients can restore movement they may have lost in an injury.
Physical Therapists not only help people who are injured, but also people who have chronic conditions or illnesses. These educated individuals use a variety of different techniques and care to people of all ages. Most of these techniques involve exercises such as stretching maneuvers or hands-on therapy. PTs also use equipment to ease their patient’s pain and help them increase their mobility. The techniques that might be used are patient specific as not all patients will have the same injury or condition. Through evaluating their patients, PTs will build an individualized plan of care that will be most effective in helping their patient recover.
After developing an individualized plan of care, PTs will then evaluate and record a patient’s progress. They will modify a plan of care as needed to help the recovery process move smoothly. During this process, PTs will also educate patients and their families about what to expect from the recovery process and how best to cope with challenges throughout it. Not every patient makes a full recovery, but PTs can make sure that the patient can heal as much as they possibly can.
When it comes to problems resulting from strains, strains and fractures, Physical Therapists are there to help. A PT can help you through the healing process and make sure you are on the right track to recovery.
