Have you made your New Year’s resolutions? New Year’s Fitness ResolutionsThe year 2020 is almost upon us and it’s very common for people to make various fitness goals as their resolutions as they enter a new year. However, almost two thirds of the people who have fitness resolutions end up quitting. They don’t realize how much work having a fitness resolution entails. This does not have to be you. Below we’ve listed some tips that can help you stick to your fitness goals this coming new year.

Prepare your Gym Clothes Ahead of Time

January is always the trial month where a bunch of people show up at the gym during the beginning of the month but then slowly stop coming by the end. To make going to the gym easier, start getting into the habit of having exercise clothes laid out for when you come home from work. Most people want to relax when they come home from work and don’t want to go back out to go to the gym. Having your exercise clothes laid out ahead of time will help put you in an exercise state of mind. If you want to take it a step further, you can take your gym clothes with you to work so you don’t have to go home. This way you don’t have the temptation to remain home and get comfortable.

Think of Progress

Exercising long term is a commitment and a life change for some people. It’s crucial to keep in mind that you will not see immediate results. For many people, this lack of results will cause them to quit after a couple weeks. To resist this urge to quit, it is important to focus on your goal and think of the progress you are making. Remind yourself of all the benefits that come with exercising. You will see improvements if you go to the gym at least three to four times a week. Some people lose interest on the exercises that a fitness trainer has laid out for them. Instead, choose what you want to do. Remember exercising is not just lifting weights and putting them down. Walking, dancing, swimming and running are all forms of exercise you can do to stay fit.

Exercising long term is a goal that not everyone can commit to. If losing weight and becoming healthier are your fitness resolutions, try the above tips to get you started. Exercise can be very beneficial, so it is important you stay focused and committed.
