Do you think about how many items you grab onto daily? Graded Pinch Exerciser Gripping is an action people do daily, whether it’s gripping a coin to pay a parking meter, opening a door, or grasping a drink. It is an essential ability that we do in life that some of us may take for granted. However, not everyone may have this ability, as they may have lost it after an accident or surgical procedure. That is where Occupational Therapists come in. These therapists will use tools to rehabilitate patents that replicate daily tasks, like gripping a coin. One tool they may use is the CanDo® graded pinch finger exerciser.

The graded pinch finger exerciser offers resistance hand exercises for those who have lost their ability to pinch and grip. This may include individuals recovering from a broken or sprained finger. Through repeated use, the graded pinch finger exerciser can help patients improve their pinch strength until they are able to perform everyday pinch tasks independently. Over time, the patient can go from a color-coded light resistance pinch pin to a heavier resistance one. This will show both the therapists and patient visually that the patient’s pinch strength is improving.

Additional pinch-pins are also available in 5 or 10 replacement pins depending on how many that are needed. The exerciser includes 5 sets of color-coded graded resistance pinch pins, three horizontal rods, and a vertical rod for shoulder ROM exercises. Through therapy using a graded pinch finger exerciser patients can regain their ability to live life to the fullest.

A graded pinch finger exerciser set can improve pinch strength and coordination. If you think the graded pinch finger exerciser is right for you, please contact your doctor or Occupational Therapist.
