Sitting for long periods of time can be tough, especially when all our body wants to do is move around. What is Active Sitting?As human beings, we are not meant to be sitting around all day, but some jobs require it. So how do you find the perfect balance of having to sit and moving around? You can get a chair that promotes active sitting.

Active sitting, also known as dynamic sitting, is the act of actively engaging some of your muscles while sitting in a chair. These muscles can include your back, abdominal, or leg muscles. Which is perfect for those working a full 9 to 5 job at a desk for prolonged periods of time. Research has shown that sitting for long periods of time at work can damage the body over time.

Core and abdominal weakness, back pain, and spinal deformities are all examples of what can happen to you if you do not move at all during the day. Therefore, some employees try to combat these harmful effects by going to the gym either before or after work. However, with active sitting you can be active during your day job and allowing you to skip the gym if you do not have time.

There are many tools available that can help you actively sit. Using some sort of unstable ball or cushion is key to active sitting. Regular chairs are only meant to give you support and comfort. Adding an unstable cushion to that chair or completely replacing it with a ball chair or inflatable ball will promote active sitting and give you the benefits that come with it. Active sitting can increase core strength, improve posture and even burn calories. All the things you look for in the gym, but now you can gain these benefits while doing your job.

Active sitting is a great way to stay active while doing desk job. This activity provides a lot of health benefits and can prevent you from damaging your future body.
