How do you celebrate the holiday season?
Exercise Early
You may not be a morning person, but the morning can be the perfect time to get a workout in. A lot of local gyms will be accessible in the morning, and once you’re in the gym you might be encouraged to start working out. The hard part might be getting up early and getting over there. So instead of mulling over a cup of coffee, you can get up and go before your family members even notice that you are gone.
Take a Walk
Most people for the holidays usually sit on the couch and watch tv in between meals. Instead of just sitting and lounging around after you just sat and ate a hearty meal, you can go for a walk. Encourage other family members to join you if you wish to be with them. You don’t have to go for a marathon, even just a walk around the block will help burn off some of those excess holiday calories.
Make a Game out of it
Exercise can be a word that some family members loath. However, if you make a game out of exercising then everyone might be more inclined to get involved. For example, playing tag is a great way to get some cardio in and get the blood flowing. Games can include a lot of your family members and can provide fun and friendly competition. If you live in a snowy climate, creating snow angles is another example that is both fun and a great workout for your arms and legs.
With a little effort, you can always find ways to exercise and spend time with family this holiday season.
