We at BPP understand the importance of Occupational Therapy in schools, and we would like to highlight Shoshana Josipvich. As an Occupational Therapist (OT) at the Audubon School in New York City, Shoshana was curious about using TheraPutty® to help her students and reached out to us. Our sales person, Joe, sent her samples and this was her response:
“Thank you so much for the samples of the TheraPutty®,” Shoshana said. “So far, my students have really been loving them, I use them for strengthening of the intrinsic muscles of the hand. I hid beads in some of them and asked the students to find them, helping with visual discrimination and proprioception. They are such wonderful tools! It’s too early to tell how the hand strengthening is working, but it seems like it will really build strength, while my students have fun!”
OTs are key contributors within the educational system. For students with disabilities, an OT will help support these children in their ability to participate in desired daily school activities. Such activities both social and educational include: social skills, math, reading, writing, behavior, sports, and recess. An OT will work with students to set goals for these activities, and in time achieve these goals.
We at BPP are happy to help Shoshana and the students at her school and are even happier that TheraPutty is working well for them! Thank you, Shoshana, for sharing your feedback with us!
